Michelle A. Jaldin
Michelle A. Jaldin is a student at Trinity Washington University in Washington D.C and is majoring in Biology with two minors: Language & Cultural Studies and Philosophy. Michelle is dedicated to obtaining education and mentoring from her professors at Trinity Washington University. She is currently the president of Trinity’s Ladies F.I.R.S.T (Fierce in Research, Science and Technology) club. Michelle is dedicated to obtaining her Bachelor's degree and plans to attend medical school by 2015, as part of an MD-PhD program. Her goal is to help underprivileged people, especially women, by becoming a general physician in the future. Michelle loves learning, but she also loves educating others about what she learns. She believes that education around the world, should not be a privilege and that it should be enforced at all accounts. In her undergraduate coursework, she has taken the following science courses: General Biology, General Chemistry, Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, Biology of Women, Introductory Genetics, Cell and Molecular Biology, Critical Thinking of Diseases, Calculus I & II, and Physics. Michelle is currently taking a Biology course titled Directed Research taught by Dr. Moitra, in which she is learning to enhance her skills and knowledge in lab safety, lab inventory, solution preparation, equipment operation, pipetting, and other experimental methods that will benefit her in a laboratory job or internship. Michelle loves learning, but she also loves educating others what she learns. Outside of the classroom and laboratory she enjoys hiking, volunteering, reading scientific texts, and building scientific art work.
